Laxman Jhula

Built-in 1939, Laxman Jhoola is a suspension bridge in Rishikesh with 450 feet and 70 feet from the river. According to Hindu mythology, Laxman once crossed the river Ganga on a jute rope from this place, thus making this place a critical pilgrim attraction. There is no entry fee, and the bridge is open for people all the time. You can also visit Tera Manzil Temple, which is near to it. You will also find small shops for your little local shopping, and there are several restaurants where you can enjoy different items of food.

Ram Jhula

Ram Jhula area is the busiest part of town would be an understatement. According to legend, Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Rama, crossed the Ganga River using a jute bridge located in the exact location. This led to another hanging jute bridge being built in 1889, though it was washed away by floods in 1924.

Vashisth Cave

Vashistha cave is devoted to a great sage Vashistha, who was one of Saptarishi in ancient India. The Rishi Vashistha is observed as manas Putra of Lord Brahma and the Guru of Lord Ram.

Neer waterfall Trek

At 9 km from Rishikesh Railway Station and 5 km from Lakshman Jhula, Neer Gaddu or Neer Garh Waterfall is a natural waterfall situated on Rishikesh - Badrinath Highway in Uttarakhand. Neer waterfall is one of the famous adventurous places to visit in Rishikesh.

Neelkanth Mahadev Temple

By Air

Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) is the nearest airport to the town of Rishikesh. It is located 20 km away from Rishikesh. You can book a taxi to get to the town from here.

By Train

Rishikesh is well connected to major cities of the country through trains. You can catch a train to Rishikesh from Delhi, Mumbai, Dehradun etc.

By Road

Rishikesh is well connected via road as well. There are regular bus services from New Delhi, Haridwar, Shimla, Chandigarh, Nainital etc., which you can avail. You may also drive to Rishikesh in a hired car or bring your own car. Make sure you have an elaborate map with you that mists the major highways etc.
